Hi!

I am a horse racing fan and I have been following the doping scandals and the post-Maximum Security fallout.

I'm planning to purchase the e-book. Hopefully my budget for this month would work out.

Great interview, will subscribe.

I forgot to tell you a horse story. I am a friend of Silver Charm, the 1997 Derby winner. Yesterday, the farm where he lives threw a post-Derby gathering. I got to feed him carrots and kiss him. I also got to "comb" his mane hair with my fingers and scratching his neck. It was a very nice day I had.

We need not forget the immortal (or immoral, take your pick) words of the fabulous essay title “The Kentucky Derby is Decadent and Depraved” by the late, great Hunter S. Thompson. While the good Dr. Gonzo was originally from Louisville, he was less concerned about the condition of the equine participants in the race than the bourbon soaked trackside rail hounds and clothes trees avec chapeaus. And of course-himself. He may not have cared about doping the horses as much as doping himself. Bless his restless soul.

Hi Jay. Fresh off a weekend at the Kentucky Derby and a racing fan who spent many summer days at Ellis Park situated along the Ohio River between Indiana and Kentucky, I can relate to the dilemma facing horse racing. Some of my favorite memories are of Derby infields, meeting Calvin Borel, and sitting on my grandmother's rug, listening to Jim McKay on ABC and cheering for Alydar as he and Affirmed dueled during the Triple Crown of '78. Horse racing is both a beautiful and ugly sport. It's my hope that it perseveres, but challenging days are ahead. Thank you for sharing the interview. I always enjoy your writing.
