A lot has been written about Jimmy Buffet over the last week (deservedly so), but I really appreciate the way your piece captures the feeling of Jimmy Buffett vs just talking about all the history or the numbers. Thanks Jay!
Jimmy was just always there as I grew up and navigated those highways and byways he spoke of. I have Margaritaville t-shirts bought in New Orleans in the 80’s that I still slip into when it’s that kind of day. One of my favorite memories was taking my parents to a Margaritaville restaurant and hearing my Dad say he knew many of the songs . . . I knew I’d done my job, sharing the fun and folly of Jimmy with my 82-year-old Dad. He’s in heaven now and, if Jimmy made the cut, Dad welcomed him with open arms and a guitar, ready to play some of my old favorites he had heard.

Thanks so much, Steve! Glad you enjoyed it. Really appreciate you reading.
As Jimmy Buffet sang, “We are the people our parents warned us about!”
If we're living right, we are! Thanks for reading.
